How To Make a Spring Wreath for Your Home

Spring has sprung! It is time to put away all those winter decorations and spruce up your home for spring.

It’s a great time to brighten up your decor and your mood with pretty, pastel colours and cute springy sayings.

14″ Bicycle Wheel Wreath

Pastel Wire Mesh Ribbon

Scrabble Tiles

Scrap wood and Easter / Spring embellishments

How To:

Bow

Spring mesh ribbon — Cut mesh ribbon into 40cm / 16″ lengths – two of each colour.

Mesh ribbon — Fold each length of ribbon in half, overlapping the edges and stack on top of one another.

Mesh Ribbon tied — Tie the ribbons together with a string or twist with a pipe cleaner.

Ribbon Tails — Cut the ribbons up the middle to form two ribbon tails and cut each end on a diagonal.

Spring wreath bow — Fluff out each section to form a messy bow and tie the tails and bow onto the bicycle wheel wreath form.

Scrabble Tile Saying

MDF from the Dollar Store — Using MDF from the Dollar store or scrap wood, cut two rectangles. One approximately 4cm / 1.5″ by 15cm / 6″ and the second 4cm / 1.5″ by 25cm / 10″

MDF cut on scroll saw — Or, if you have a scroll saw, you can cut the second piece into the banner shape shown above. Paint your wood pieces.

Scrabble Tiles — Choose a saying for your wreath, Ex. Happy Easter, Welcome Spring, etc. and glue the appropriate tiles to your painted wood shapes.

Put It All Together

Hot glue your saying and embellishments to the wreath form.

Mix it up! Use what you have on hand. Ribbons, small toys and decorations, paint your saying on a piece of wood or use pre-cut wood sayings from the dollar store. Have fun with it! Make it your own!.
